Data Collection, Management & Analysis for NGOs (with RECO)

A tailored workshop helping RECO's climate project team collect the right data and turn it into evidence of impact.

Many Syrian NGOs do important work without the data systems to measure and communicate their impact. This workshop was our first step in NGO capacity building.

We designed it for a project run by RECO, a growing organisation in the climate and environmental space, and built it around their real constraints: limited resources, field-based collection and reporting requirements.

The session covered:

  • Types of data: primary and secondary, qualitative and quantitative, internal and external

  • Collection tools: surveys, interviews and focus groups, with the pros and cons of each

  • Data quality and organising datasets

  • Turning data into insights that show actual impact

Every example came from RECO's own work, from plastic collected during the earthquake response to environmental knowledge before and after a camp. Impact should be demonstrated, not assumed.
